The Trade Van Driver’s annual awards were held recently, and it comes as no surprise that Vauxhall was one of the biggest winners on the night. They won not one, not two, but three awards. An especially big performer for the automobile manufacturer was the Vauxhall Movano, which won two awards. It was voted ‘Best Large Van’ and ‘Van of the Year 2020.’ Vauxhall was also the recipient of the ‘Best Conversion Range.’ All in all, it was a successful night for the British automobile manufacturer.
These awards are particularly noteworthy because of who votes for them. Trade Van Driver is the UK’s leading van magazine and places particular attention on small business owners. It goes without saying that the owner-driver segment of the business world is a big component of Vauxhall’s success. Indeed, it’s a market that the manufacturer places particular emphasis on. Whereas many awards are voted by automobile experts, this awards show was different in that the awards were voted on by experts and the small business owners who actually use the vehicles.
The recognition from the industry shows just how important Vauxhall continues to be for small business owners that require light commercial vehicles.
While the manufacturer had a successful night in general, it was the Movano that really stood up when it mattered. The vehicle didn’t just win two awards; it won important awards. Indeed, it was the winner of arguably the most important award of the night. ‘Van of the Year’ will always be a prestigious award, and it was the Movano that went home with it. The impact that the vehicle has had was summed up by Matthew Eisenegger, who said that the van “has been the unsung hero of the heavy van market, plugging away faithfully on Britain’s motorways.”
So what makes the Movano so special, anyway? Part of it has to do with its adaptability. There’s a size option for virtually every type of business. There’s simply a huge range of size options, making it the perfect go-to option since they’ll have the size that the company needs. It also lends itself well to companies that require the same vehicle in different sizes. It’s highly adaptable, too, so you can use it for whatever you need -- that could mean additional seats or none at all. It also wins plenty of plaudits for its relatively low running costs, which is always important for small business operators.
As you can imagine, Vauxhall was delighted with the results of the evening. It’s always nice to win awards, but it’s especially sweet when the awards are voted for by your customers. The managing director of Vauxhall had this to say: “We are immensely proud to receive these awards for our Vauxhall Movano van and our conversion range. Our LCVs are crucial to carrying British business, and we are delighted to have been recognised today.”
All in all, it was another good night for Vauxhall, who continue to be recognised for the quality, performance, and all-around reliability of their vans.
