Last month Vauxhall unveiled their plans for an overhaul on the design blueprint of their future cars and announced that they will be using a completely new ‘design language’ from now on.
They did this by releasing a glimpse of the forthcoming brand concept which is set to be fully exposed to all Vauxhall fans soon. They say they are giving the Vauxhall look a renovation in an attempt to bring back some of the brands core values, which they say are – British, Ingenious, Progressive and Approachable.
Vauxhall’s Vice President Design, Mark Adams, has said that “Design will be at the heart of everything that we do in future.”
“It will truly differentiate the Vauxhall brand, and make it sharper and more relevant to our core values.”
“We are a proud British brand and design inspiration is all around us in the UK – from the bold ingenuity of James Dyson to the pure designs of Jonathan Ive – and this concept will embody that.”
A main ingredient to the new design recipe will be the new ‘compass’ like alignment which is clearly visible in the preview image. Vauxhall claim that this will be a defining feature of all future models – flat blade-like headlights and a distinctive bonnet line.
“It presents a confident identity, by putting the Griffin emblem in focus by the centre-crease line,” said Vauxhall.
As well as the design revitalisation, Vauxhall have also said they are converting all of their future models in to low and zero carbon emission advocates which we can expect to be released all in one package during the mid-2020s when the brand plan on launching their fully electric models.
For those of you with a true eye for detail you will have noticed that there are similar characteristics in the recently unveiled image as there 2016 GT Concept Car which has familiar swooping lines and a designed front end with a sizeable indentation in the bonnet.
