Everything We Know About the New 2021 Vauxhall Crossland So Far

New Vauxhall Crossland 2021

If you feel like you've had enough of 2020, who could blame you? But for those drivers looking ahead to the future, there are some bright new things in store for the automotive world. One of the most exciting and fresh new releases of 2021 looks set to be the updated Vauxhall Crossland.

But what can we expect from the new model, and what do we know about it so far?

Three years after it was first introduced, the Vauxhall Crossland SUV has been restyled with a bold new look. Not only has it ditched the "X" suffix from its name, but there have been some dramatic changes to the interior and the performance which look set to offer a massive improvement on the former edition.

The Vauxhall Crossland 2021 is set to be released in the early part of next year, and in the meantime, you can take a peek at some pictures of the new design here. But for those who can't wait to find out, let's take a deeper look at what's new.

Design

One of the most striking updates to the Crossland's design is the addition of Vauxhall's new Vizor front end, which Vauxhall aficionados will have already observed flaunted on their latest Mokka offering. The Vizor features a brand new vented front bumper accompanied by a glossy wide black grille flanked by a pair of stunning LED headlights. The wider grille, large air intakes on the lower bumper, and thick cladding give it a sturdier, more confident appearance. You can also expect to see a similarly glossy black tailgate and smoked LED taillights all topped off with a set of 17-inch alloy wheels.

Interior

Step inside the Vauxhall Crossland, and you'll notice a wide range of further improvements. Most noticeably the infotainment system has been upgraded as well as boasting the addition of a brand new comprehensive safety system. Although exact specifications have not yet been released, it is likely to include a 180-degree parking camera, pedestrian recognition system, driver drowsiness monitor, and forward collision alert. Updated seats offer better support for drivers on long journeys, and the rear bench which splits and folds can be customised to offer more legroom or storage space depending on the driver's needs. You can enjoy anywhere from 410 to 1255 litres of boot storage space.

Performance

Buyers will have a choice between four engine options - two petrols and two diesels. The 1.2-litre petrol engine comes in 82bhp or 128bhp, while the 1.5-litre diesel offering comes with either 108bhp or 118bhp. One of the biggest criticisms aimed at the first-generation Crossland was the handling, and Vauxhall has addressed this issue with the addition of new springs, dampers and an enhanced steering system, which will provide improved feedback and driving dynamics.

Prices of the 2021 Vauxhall Crossland look set to start at approximately £20,000, presenting only a minor increase on the previous model. Drivers can expect to see the new offering available from early next year.
